13 - 19 June (week 24)

What a hot hot hot week! It meant we decided to stay at home a bit this week and keep out of the sun. We did do a wild workout though about nocturnal animals, a yoga club with a machine theme, and some ring fit adventure.

We also went to the playground first thing in the morning one day and played some basket/football, and Vin went to the playground with his friend after communigrow though just for a short visit.

We talked about the sorts of jobs we do every day or every week to look after ourselves and our home. We decided the word jobs or housework makes it sound boring so Vin renamed them "cherry chores". It sounds cuter!

Vin did some lovely drawing (all over our list of cherry chores we'd made!) and taught me how to draw some characters from Grizzy and the Lemmings. (I drew the lady bear)

We spent a bit of time each day thinking of some things we were grateful for in our lives.

Vin has spent a bit more time this week helping to prepare snacks and meals.

We read about Louis Braille and how and why he invented braille and we looked at a braille story book and tried to feel the bumps. We managed to identify a few letters but it was very difficult without looking at them and then at the guide in the book!

At communigrow they had a recap of identifying weeds and then headed out around the field to tackle some areas and learn how to remove them.

We got some new books at the library and spent time reading.

We found a different website to try touch typing on which Vin liked a bit better and had a really good go at.

We practiced the Dutch words for yes, no, thank you, and please to prepare for our trip to the Netherlands.

We watched a video about telling the time and did some activity sheets about time.

We read another traditional story. This one was called "The Pumpkin in the Jar". We did some quiz questions about it and compared it to the previous traditional story.

We played times table target practice, multiplying the numbers on 2 12 sided dice together then making and trying to hit a target with that sum on with the nerf guns.

We did the final gallery in Vin's Escape room puzzle book. It was fun!

Vin wrote a beautiful father's day card.

We practiced sewing on a button.
