 This week:

We talked some more about what things change as you grow up and the new responsibilities you gain as you get older.


We read a short story and did some activities and puzzles about it.


Vin played some more funny times table games on kahoot on a few days this week. 

We did the next experiment in the letterbox lab. We played with the provided slime, tested how it kept shapes then we did the "pitch drop" test with it.



Vin drew some fun pictures.

Vin had saved up his pocket money and bought a card game with little marvel super heroes to play with - Marvel Battleworld. There's a bit of adding to do to play the battles so it counts as maths!


We played outside a few times this week at various parks, and took the basketball to the court. Vin managed to get quite a few baskets!

We went to Communigrow and Vinnie helped preparing the raised beds for planting, watering some plants and pricking out some seedlings.

We picked up a couple of books at the library which Vinnie has really been looking forward to getting so he read those a few times.

We played the times table heroes board game and also Landmark Lotto which we got this week.

We did the Mystery Science lesson about apples and how there are so many varieties of apples because of selection over the years.

We watched a lot of different stories on Vooks and they have activities to go with them now so we printed some of those off to do as well.


Vin had a go at some activities about shapes on the Khan Academy website.

We read the facts magazine about the Victorians from Vin's mysteries in time box and we did the quiz and puzzles.

 This is our last week of the year before we take 3 weeks off for Christmas and New Year. Our week started with something a bit unusual - snow! We went sledging, built a snow gorilla, had snowball fights and of course, as per our theme, built snow castles! Our theme for article of the week this week is all about the lead up to the Age of Exploration. We read about the travels of Marco Polo, the methods used for navigation, the spice trade, and the new ships the Europeans started making in the Middle Ages to help them travel longer distances. We had some more fun with numbers. We practiced more adding and subtracting within 20 and tried out some different methods of making it easier when subtracting such as breaking the number down so you can get to an easier number first then subtract the rest. 28 June - 4 July (week 26)

 A bit of a quieter week this week as we had a few family things to do. We made some lego stop motion videos. We found the youtube channel of the person from the legocon thing we watched last week and got some tips and inspiration. Then we set up our scenes and made our own. We played with lots of lego too, watched some octonauts, played some games.  We went out to a new nature area with some friends and we identified some creatures we found using google lens on the app. We think this guy is a lesser stag beetle. The first 2 strawberries from our garden were ready to eat! We also went to a wedding and Vin had fun playing with some children there.

19 - 25 June 2023 (week 25)

 This week we did some more activities about money. We practiced identifying coins and adding them up. We played Ed and Bunny go shopping. Vinnie filled in an activity sheet with lots of addition and subtraction of money. V read a couple of story books about people saving money and raising money. We also did some white rose maths activities. We did the letterbox lab experiment making a rubber band helicopter. We tried out different things to find out the best balance between size and weight of the helicopter compared to the blades.  Vinnie did some pages from his handwriting book, his comprehension activities book and his spelling practice book.  He drew some lovely fun pictures. He is very inspired by Sonic the Hedgehog at the moment so has drawn some fun scenes with the characters from the games and cartoons. We did some puzzles together.
