7 - 20 March (weeks 10 and 11)

We've had a fun couple of weeks! (do i write that every time? Probably!)

We visited Drusillas zoo and had a lovely time looking at the animals, playing in the playgrounds, and riding on the rides!

Vinnie drew a very true-to-character picture of Looshkin which was complimented by the original author.

We read more of the murderous maths books each day and had fun doing some of the puzzles in them including making more moebius strips and creating a postcard that you can crawl through.

We watched and solved along with Maddie and Greg's mystery of the moon flower interactive video, looking at the cambridge botanical gardens and finding out about some interesting plants.

We read Vin's plants edition of the Lego Explorer magazine.

With his dad, Vin learned a bit about reading music, the stave and notes.

We practiced letter-join handwriting program: we did some dictation, wrote out some palindromes, and practiced good spacing between words.

We did an experiment from our letterbox lab kit, we painted the inside of the box lid with glow in the dark paint. Once it had dried and it was night time, we captured some shadows! We read about what was happening.

Vinnie conducted an archaelogical dig for a Roman artefact!

We did an activity all about good and not so good choices, consequences and how what we do can affect other people.

We learned to play chess and Vin did some great thinking ahead.

We watched a video of how vending machines get filled up and work.

We went to Cobtree Manor park to play with a friend.

We watched a mystery science video "The Power of Flowers" about pollination and did the accompanying activity, making some little pipe cleaner bees and flowers with different colour pollen to see if we could pollinate the other plants.

We did the next gallery in our Escape the Museum book - this time puzzles about dinosaurs.

We watched the Lego Build to Launch video about the vehicle assembly building and the crawler that moves the rocket to the launch pad. Vinnie made a lego crawler with launch structure, SLS and orion module. He had some of the details from the real one such as a driver area on each side for moving forward and backward. We watched the real rollout of the Artemis I that happened this week.

Vinnie and his dad went to find out some information about the nearby St Leonard's Tower.

Library books same as last time, we'll go next week!
