21 - 27 March (week 12)

 This week we wrote out some poems and jokes to practice handwriting. 

 

Vin has been enjoying a multiplication game on the phone recently and has played it quite a few times this week. 

We read about the Spring Equinox and about birds coming back from their migration to start making nests. We also looked at some paintings and read poems relating to these topics.

Communigrow home ed lessons started again so we went there. We learned more about seeds and how they start to grow. Vinnie planted some pea seeds in a tray and made a plant maze - some peas in a small pot inside a shoe box with a hole in the top and various obstacles inside for it to grow through. Later in the week the pea plants had already started to grow!

 

We visited the library and Vinnie read lots of books.

We started doing some maths on the Khan Academy website. Vinnie has chosen to start with the "year 2" course so it is a little bit simple but he has already done nearly half of it within the week so we can move onto other things fairly soon and it's good to have a check on what things obviously make sense to Vin and what things aren't so clear.

We watched some books on Vooks! We watched a story about atoms which related well to our static electricity experiments we did recently.

We started a new topic on the twinkl activities all about growing up, and how our responsibilities change as we get older.

 We made an optical illusion spinner from the letterbox lab.

 

Vin liked watching the new Numberblocks and Alphablocks special crossover episodes.

We played with the letter magnets making some words and sentences. And also played with the numberblocks making some different shapes with the numbers. 

 

We watched a video of gummy sweets being made in a factory.

We played one of the Unlock! puzzle games and managed to escape!

Vinnie experimented with his Lego Boost vehicle and tried out some things with the programming and had fun playing.
