2 - 29 August (weeks 31 - 34) SUMMER HOLIDAY!
We took some time out to be mega lazy and relax and not plan anything in particular for August this year.
Here are a few of the things we got up to:
We read some books, including "Little Leaders Visionary Women". Vin was interested in the pages about Mary Blair as it mentioned about the Small World ride at disneyland that she designed. So we looked up some more information about her and some of her art and we watched a ride through video on youtube of the Small World ride.
We put the Times Table poster up at the top of the stairs and occasionally quizzed each other.
Vin made lots of cool lego. We watched the Lego Batman movie so a lot of his builds were batman themed. He made loads of villains usign his existing figures and made vehicles for them and the Joker's Manor house. (There were lots of other vehicles over the weeks I didn't take photos of all of them!)
We went to Bedgebury Pinetum for a picnic and saw loads of nice plants, watched the duck and geese on the pond (and admired their footprints in the muddle shallows), saw a snake swimming in one pond and also found 2 tiny mice on the path. One ran to the side but we carefully moved the other one to join it as it was frozen in place and likely to get trodden on.
Vin played with the car sat nav looking at the world and finding places to visit.
We visited Trosley Country park and had fun on the play equipment and making music with the woodland orchestra.
We also went to Teston Country park and looked at the lock and made some good echoes under the bridge.
There was a stitching activity in the park, we saw a big crossstitch pattern across a special table and we were given 2 patchwork squares to stitch which will be part of a big patchwork piece of art.
We watched lots of tv including Go Jetters and Numberblocks as there were new episodes!
And other stuff that I had a break from writing down, but mostly just relaxing :)
