9 - 31December. End of 2020!
We had a bit of a laid back wind down to Christmas, it has been such a strange year, i think we were both ready to relax a bit! Here are some of the activities we have done:
We learned about Timelines and wrote a timeline of some events that have happened in our own lives.
We read a new "Lego Explorer" magazine. It was an under the sea theme. We learned about some creatures and submarines. We did all the activities from the magazine and it inspired us to make our own under the sea scenes. Vin's was interactive with a boat on the surface of the water that tipped to look at the creatures underneath!
We played the robot turtles game and learned about programming a computer. Vin is getting pretty good at thinking ahead and planning the moves for his robot turtle to make, even on quite an elaborate course.
Vin made a lovely Christmas decoration from a kit.
Vin is continuing practicing peeling potatoes. He found a huuuuuge potato to peel!
Vin drew some terrifying sea creatures for some adventurers to discover.
We practiced carefully giving and following directions to decorate some fancy looking presents.
We read a ton of lovely books from the library.
We decorated for Christmas.
We listened to a jazz version of "the Nutcracker" after reading the story. Then we did some painting of what we thought jazz would look like.
We did some fun puzzles from the Banjo Robinson site. (we did figure out the missing one in the end...it was smoothie)
We went to Bateman's for a walk, and to Bedgebury, Bodiam castle and the Ashdown forest. We haven't been going out very much though as it is not recommended. There were some new signs around Bodiam that we hadn't seen before that taught us a bit more about the kinds of jobs people would have had at the castle.
We made a paper lantern garland from a kit.
We made a special dessert for Christmas.Vinnie laboured over his letter to Santa - a very important task each year!
After Christmas we built a LOT of lego of course!
We went for a walkabout and practiced telling time on the big clock at the church.
We are looking forward to the New Year and some new things to learn about. :)
