Easter Fun
There have been a few fun activities locally in the past couple weeks as it has been the school Easter break.
On one morning, I left Vin with my phone camera as he wanted to take a picture of his lego. When I came back for it, he had taken quite a lot of photos! But not of any lego! Here are a few of them:

We visited a local pet store that were having some information sessions about their animals. We learned a bit about rabbits, guinea pigs, rats and hamsters. Vinnie stroked a rabbit and a guinea pig. At the end he got a certificate. He also enjoyed looking at the fish tanks and planning what decorations he would want to put in if we had an aquarium!

We made a building site out of our oats and glitter mix that we used for moon dust. We chose building site theme vehicles and used the blocks to build things. Among other things, Vinnie designed a very stylish swimming pool and a cool obstacle course for a monster truck.

Vin used some of his new blocks to make a picture of a 'robo teddy'

I have been collecting some cardboard boxes and tubes and put them out this week so Vinnie could come up with some interesting creations. The first day, Vin used them to make a rocket pack and a blaster so he could be Boba Fett from Star Wars.

We went to the shopping centre with some friends to listen to a story about Peter Rabbit. Peter himself was there to say hello to everyone too!

On volunteering day, we stayed the whole day. In the morning was the bird survey and in the afternoon was the wetlands survey. We saw a lot of different creatures including many newts! Vinnie's favourite creature was a greater water boatman. He put it in a little pot to have a closer look.

At art group, Vinnie was in the mood to draw pictures of boats this week! He drew several boats, a couple of cars and a diplodocus.

Vinnie has had a fresh burst of lego inspiration lately! Here is a wildlife photographer:

A very cool pirate ship with binoculars and a long plank to make people walk!

The same pirate ship but modified to have a roof to keep them dry and cupboards on the front for the pirates so they can keep their snacks safe:

A zora spitting fire balls (from Legend of Zelda):

Link from Legend of Zelda:

Link fighting a soldier:

Loads of amazing cars including this one:

And a fire truck:

It was a warm enough day to sit and do some comics outside this week. Vinnie was being Kimi Raikkonen.

Then we had some more fun with the cardboard. We built a robot with wobbly legs. a hovercraft and a play-food shooting robot that copied everything anyone said!

I just love seeing Vinnie's imagination at work and all the funny things he comes up with!
