Vin's Learning Journey

We started the week outside in the garden making the most of the sunshine. We played with the story sack Vin got last week from the library (and i forgot to list last week's library books oops!). It was the bad tempered ladybird, we played a ladybird counting game and read a book about ladybirds. We went and played foot-basket-ball at the nearby court. We joined in with another Andy's wild workout video.  We opened up the next letterbox lab and did the first experiment. We dyed some paper with red cabbage, then we drew on it with vinegar and sodium bicarbonate solution and saw how the paper changed colours. We learned that this was because of acids and alkalis. We looked at photos and talked about the similarities and differences between families from different countries of the world. We wondered what it would be like to live in different places. We thought about the important people in our lives and how we can show them we care. Vin played more funny kahoot times table games o...

 At Communigrow this week we learned about how plants propogate. We looked at some cacti that were growing little baby cacti that then dropped off. We learned how to take leaf cuttings and root cuttings from some different plants and took some home to see how they did. We picked up lots of lovely library books and Vin had a nice time doing lots of reading. We visited a playground to see a friend and went to a different playground and went for a walk with other friends.We also went for a walk on ashdown forest and went to another different playground! lots of playgrounds this week... We did an "Andy's wild workout" and a "Cosmic Kids yoga club video".  We had a little recap of some letters using the letterjoin sheets. Vin hates writing more than ever. We had a go at a few pages of the Sherlock Bones times table adventure book which Vinnie enjoyed.  We talked about the types of changes that occur in life and the different feelings people may have when changes happ...

 This week: We talked some more about what things change as you grow up and the new responsibilities you gain as you get older. We read a short story and did some activities and puzzles about it. Vin played some more funny times table games on kahoot on a few days this week.  We did the next experiment in the letterbox lab. We played with the provided slime, tested how it kept shapes then we did the "pitch drop" test with it. Vin drew some fun pictures. Vin had saved up his pocket money and bought a card game with little marvel super heroes to play with - Marvel Battleworld. There's a bit of adding to do to play the battles so it counts as maths! We played outside a few times this week at various parks, and took the basketball to the court. Vin managed to get quite a few baskets!
