7 - 20 August 2023 (weeks 32 and 33)

 We looked at some more types of charts this week - we learned to draw and interpret pictograms for displaying data. We made sure to include a key so we knew what each symbol on the pictogram represented. We practiced making different types of charts in the maths activity book.

We talked about different emotions and big feelings and ways to cope with them. We made ourselves some toolboxes filled with tools that we had decorated and written things that help us feel better.

Vinnie practiced his handwriting and did a page from his comprehension book - he read the story aloud and then we answered the questions together and vinnie did some lovely joined up writing. He did some pages from the other English activity books on other days too and finished the comprehension and spelling, punctuation and grammar ones.

We made more perler bead pictures, vinnie came up with a picture without using a pattern.

We did experiments with bubbles from the letterbox lab. It soon just became a big bubble popping party in the garden though!

We read a story called ‘the journey’ from a story sack, answered quiz questions about it, sequenced pictures onto a map in the order they happened in the story and played a board game with the cards.

We went to the library and got lots of new books to read.

We made a grid and used pattern tiles as pieces to describe to each other where to place each piece using different ways of explaining the location eg compass points or in relation to other pieces. Vin had fun making some pictures with the pattern tiles too.

We went to Folkestone and to bedgebury for days out.

We practiced turning things quarter, half or three quarters clockwise or anti-clockwise and predicting how they’d look.

We did some how-to-draw characters from books and Vin drew loads of other awesome pictures and made a cardboard play set for his sonic toys.

We're going to have our Summer holiday now for the next few weeks so no updates for a while - which is just as well because some of the keys on my keyboard don't work and it's making me go a bit crazy!
