We had a very blustery walk around to see signs of spring and to play in the playground. The maths theme this week is all about money. We did some white rose maths puzzles and activities with coins. We played some dice games, we rolled 2 20 sided dice and added them together then tried to find a couple of different ways to make that amount using coins. We also rolled one 20 sided die then picked a coin out at random and worked out how much money we would have if we had that number of that coin. We did a mystery science called ‘why does the moon change shape?’. We stuck a skewer in a lemon (we didn’t have anything rounder to be a moon that could be skewered!) and shone a torch at it then held it just above our head and turned slowly around so the light would show the phases of the lemon. We started the Space mysteries in time box that we’d saved for the space theme. We read the fact booklet together and did the quiz. We made a galaxy in a jar. We used different glitter and confetti...
