31 May - 6 June Treasure hunt!
We have had a good excuse to familiarise ourselves a bit more with our local area this past week - for half term, some local residents set up a treasure hunt around the area. We had to search for 16 clues in the windows and send them in to narrow it down to the final four answers to the mystery.
We went for 3 walks in total to discover them all, practicing some map reading on google maps, and trying not to get too soaked (unsuccessfully) on one particularly rainy morning! We got the final section on a nice bike ride, now we have our bikes at the new house, and solved the case.
Vin has been creating some awesome lego this week. He has been really into lego ninjago again, playing the game again and with all his toys. He created some of his own models using parts of other models and basic lego bricks to create some of the cool machines from the ninjago movie. I forgot to take any photos of them annoyingly but they were so fun!
We've read books together, played games, looked up some cool things on the internet. We've watched more Waffles and Mochi together and Vin's watched a bit of Octonauts.
Our beans, carrots, strawberries and rasberries are all growing really well. Vin has been really excited to go check on them every evening after dinner to see how they've grown and if they need any water. There's so many lovely flowers growing around here too - we saw loads of poppies in particular at the moment.
We also sat and made some daisy chains together one warm afternoon when we found a large patch of them.
We worked together to make a greek vase. Vin wasn't keen on the glue aspect of papier maché, but was happy to tear up lots of paper and help blow up the balloon for the shape. We haven't yet decided what pictures to use to decorate it with.
Books we currently have from the library: (we've particularly liked the trees leaves flowers and seeds book recently as it shows what is happening with our bean seeds!)
