28 April - 17 May Animals mega theme!
We spent a few weeks on this theme all about animals. It's such a broad topic we just kept coming up with ideas.
We started out with Vin's jungle animals jigsaw.

We did loads of pages in Vin's birds sticker book and Vin enjoyed looking up the different birds on the RSPB website and listening to their calls and watching videos of them.

We used a template by the author Mini Grey to make some wonderful colourful swooping birds to decorate the house with.

Vin cruised through another maths mystery! With an animal theme of course!

Vin lost a tooth and wrote a beautiful note for the tooth mouse. His writing is still steadily improving.

Vin decorated a balloon he had with stickers to make it into an elephant.

We read the book "ish" on the library e-books site. Then we drew our own "ish" pictures.

We got out the BIG ocean jigsaw we have! Vin worked really hard and managed to complete most of it on his own!

We played bug bingo (this game still makes Vin feel a bit squeamish!)

We read about garden birds and did a quiz.

Vin's done loads of drawing including some fun drawing activities from a magazine his Oma saved for him.

We made a big animal themed course to follow on the patio. We took it in turns to come up with animal challenges.

Vin played Galaxy Pugs game on the BBC bitesize website.
We watched live streams online of animals around the world. Then Vin chose one animal to research and write about. I was amazed how well he wrote!
Vin drew an eagle and a hummingbird, did a birds word jumble, some fun sheets about kangaroos and koalas and coastal birds and animals.

We are working through the Animal and Plant superpowers topic on Mystery Science website.

We read a book called "starry eyed stan" on the Twinkl website and then did lots of fun activities to do with it. We looked at photos of under water creatures on the computer, read facts about crabs and starfish and played a memory game and a board game with quiz questions about the book.

Vin did a Peter Rabbit themed maths mystery. He did most of it on his own he was so keen to finish it!

Vin cut out some facts and labels for 2 African animals and stuck them in the right place.

We had some special scratch off animals from a book so we had some fun making pretty patterns.

We've also done PE with Joe every week day, Vin's done a LOT of drawing, playing with Lego, playing board games, making up our own games and going for walks. Plus reading some books on the library website and story books that we have. We received 3 books as a lovely surprise present which was so nice to mix things up a bit as we are definitely missing our local library and can't wait for it to open again when it is safe.
