6 - 19 April Dinosaur week and pirates week
Another fun packed 2 weeks spent mostly at home! The first week we chose Dinosaurs for a theme.
We joined in with the live youtube stream "PE with Joe" every morning to start the day.
We played Vinnie's Dinosaur brain box game.
We read a dinosaur ebook we downloaded and did some quiz sheets about it. The first one was "Remembering the facts". We did the other quiz sheets on different days so they will appear later on...

I hid dinosaur eggs around the garden and house with the 2 times table on so we had to answer the multiplication when we found each egg. We hid them a few times!

We joined the Rosetta Stone website as it has a free trial at the moment so we thought we'd try and learn more Dutch on there. We did 10 minutes or so on it over the course of the 2 weeks on 4 or 5 days. Vin also enjoyed reading his Dutch Donald Duck comic and we found an episode of Twirlywoos to watch that was dubbed into Dutch.
We did the traditional volcano experiment as there was more volcanic activity in the time of the dinos.

We cut out and stuck on labels for different dino parts and then decorated our dinos.

We did the Mystery Science Force olympics theme over this 2 weeks. Vin enjoyed watching videos of different diggers and excavators and other big work vehicles. He drew a huge excavator.

The next activity sheet Vin had to spot the punctuation.

We found some more fun youtube videos with singalong times tables on.
Vin made a wonderful dino museum in his room. It had a sign, tickets, exhibits, facts, gift shop with price list. He had to work out the money when his visitors bought tickets and souvenirs.

The weather has finally got warmer. We sat outside on the rug and Vin got out all his comics to do puzzles in.

We printed out a fun dinosaur maths activity book too. It had colouring, comparing sizes, greater and less than, adding.

Vin made a tuna pasta bake for our dinner.

We did a quiz about the T-rex, hiding the questions around the room of course!

We found some dino songs to sing along with, made videos for family and friends, did puzzles, finished the activity sheets from the dino book, drew dinos with templates and did more mystery science including making a wrecking ball.

We decorated te house for Easter and made cute little egg characters.

The next week, Vinnie chose the theme of Pirates!
We designed our own pirate flags and Vin drew his own pirate ship and dastardly crew!

We solved a mystery of missing pirate treasure by solving puzzles and uncovering clues.

Vin did some cutting and sticking labelling a pirate ship and found pirate themed words in a word search.

Vin's dad taught him some electronics with the electronics kit and also taught him some music.
We read a funny story about a pirate in a paddling pool and answered the quiz as we went along.

We did a pirate themed maths activity book, printed ones and from a little book we had.

We carried on with our mystery science experiments and investigated how to save a town from falling rocks.

We read about pirates and did a quiz.

We drew a big sea and islands scene on a piece of paper on the floor and had piratey adventures with the ship and treasure maps.

We became inventors for the final part of this mystery science section. We invented a trap to catch a monster!

Plus lots of fun, playing outside in the garden and reading stories!
