12th April - 12 May Easter fun and outings

We've had lots of days out and fun activities, including: A visit to Hargate Forest We borrowed a "story sack" from the library. It has a story book and other activities. The first one we borrowed is called mrs Rainbow. We enjoyed reading the story, acting it out with the puppets, and then Vin made up his own stories and props using the puppets. We played games on the computer: We saw the dinosaurs at the shopping centre We learned about how to program the labo to do different things We went to an activity at the library themed about "Going on a Bear Hunt". We did an "Eggsperiment" with bicarbonate of soda and vinegar: We attended a skateboarding workshop We made chocolate nests: We helped volunteer at the park: Vin made Easter cards: We made a "small world" at the park: We went to Eridge rocks: Vin drew a big race track: He wrote about an episode of Twirlywoos: We made lots of obstacle courses i...

24th March - 11th April Castles (kind of!) and other things

We had a theme of castles scheduled for April but it kind of fell by the wayside as there were lots of fun Easter themed activities too. We may postpone it until May! We have done lots of nice things though: We learned to draw The Cat in the Hat We played the "pop to the shops" game to start learning a bit more about money: We got some play money, sorted it into the different coins and added up how much money there was in each type of coin. We made our own shop: We got some old tyres to play with in the garden: We used the pokemon book to make a model of a pokemon. Vin chose sandshrew. We worked together to make the different shapes needed to make the model. We've been doing a bit of maths using a fun activity book: We transformed the number machine into the Number Castle! We went on a daytrip to Blackberry farm. We enjoyed seeing all the animals, fed a lamb, and rode the gokarts. We made a game up, a bit like battleships. We each drew a castl...
