Spooky halloween fun and a new playground

The weather this week has turned a bit colder but still been really nice so we've been making the most of it and getting outdoors.

We've made lots of fun chalk trails with challenges to follow in the garden.

We designed a spooky halloween pumpkin. Vin wanted it to have 4 eyes. I copied his design onto the pumpkin and then carved it.

Vinnie did some more writing practice most days this week. He is pretty keen on it at the moment (for a few minutes at a time anyway!). We've been using the Spider-Man writing practice book and a teenage mutant ninja turtles wipe clean book that has writing and maths activities in.

We went to a talk for home ed families at the local museum. This month it was about Archaeology. Afterwards we went to a new playground in town. Vin was very excited about it! He was proud of himself for managing to climb up a very tricky climbing frame to get to the big slide!

The topics group on facebook has chosen "Artists" this month for the theme. We had a look at a book of paintings by an artist called Wassily Kandinsky. Vinnie really liked them and made his own versions of several pictures from the book.

We had a play with friends on Ashdown Forest. The fog in the valley below looked really pretty.

We did some activities with the cards that came with one of Vin's activity books.

Vin has also done a few jigsaw puzzles this week.
