Wednesday 11th January 2017 Dinner Time!

Today is the day Vinnie is going to cook his recipe!
First Vinnie peeled a carrot.

He measured out some frozen peas and sweetcorn.

He weighed the risotto rice. Vinnie put it in the pan in hot oil.

Risotto needs to be stirred a lot.

While the proper dinner cooked, Vinnie made some other dishes in the other kitchen!

The dinner tasted delicious!

 This week we did some more activities about money. We practiced identifying coins and adding them up. We played Ed and Bunny go shopping. Vinnie filled in an activity sheet with lots of addition and subtraction of money. V read a couple of story books about people saving money and raising money. We also did some white rose maths activities. We did the letterbox lab experiment making a rubber band helicopter. We tried out different things to find out the best balance between size and weight of the helicopter compared to the blades.  Vinnie did some pages from his handwriting book, his comprehension activities book and his spelling practice book.  He drew some lovely fun pictures. He is very inspired by Sonic the Hedgehog at the moment so has drawn some fun scenes with the characters from the games and cartoons. We did some puzzles together. 2021 February 19 - 27 Free choice week !

 This week was our free choice week where we do more laid back things and Vin chooses the activities that we do.  Vin had fun on a few days playing with a scientific calculator that we left lying around.  He was experimenting with the different things you could do on it and asking us sums and seeing if we could figure them out before he put them in the calculator.  He got the magnetic world map out (while we tried to pack it to move!) and had fun playing with that taking the bits off and putting them back on a few times.  We had fun making a 200 piece jigsaw of Animals of the World. Vinnie got this at Christmas and we hadn't tried it yet. Vin did such a good job helping to sort the pieces and actually looking at the pictures on the bits and finding where they would go from the picture on the box. This is something he usually doesn't do when doing jigsaws so I think it shows he is improving his concentration.  We completed the puzzle together and enjoyed loo...

15 - 21 August 2022 (week 33)

 This week has been nice weather, we've been to the playground to do the obstacle course and played football on the green nearby and gone for walks locally. We've read lots of books together and went to the library to get some new ones.   Vin wrote and drew in a birthday card for a friend.  We did some weaving with paper and drew shapes on the finished pattern. Vin disguised some mario guys as some of his shapes! Vin practiced some typing on the computer. Vin made a quest to find the 5 keys and unlock the captured Minnie Mouse figure. We built a little Minecraft house out of lego. We read the book "Lion of the Sky". It has haiku riddles in about nature. We solved all the riddles then wrote our own. I wrote a haiku riddle, Vinnie made a whole comic puzzle quest! We looked at the world map and at the globe and looked at how the shapes of the countries are changed by representing them on a flat map.
