8 - 14 may - week 19
We did lots of white rose maths activities to do with place value, number lines and part whole models. We played a game rolling 3 10 sided dice each and using them to make a number, and then another die to determine the ones, tens or hundreds place. Whoever had the highest number in that place got to do that number of actions.
We solved the mystery “Could there be life on other planets?” on mystery science. We worked together to research various factors about temperature and light intensity on some fictional exoplanets orbiting other stars. We decided on the optimal planet to visit.
Vinnie filled in a page of his comprehension activity book. Then we each chose a poem, read it out to the other person, then selected 3 or 4 lines from the poem to write out but change some of the words and make it a bit silly.
We had fun puzzling out the clues of a space themed English mystery. We had to identify nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs, types of sentences, punctuation and capital letters. We also had a bit of a laugh at all the inaccuracies of their fictional visit to the international space station.
Vinnie played outside lots while mummy looked after the garden.
