We did some white rose maths puzzles. Then we started an activity book called the Missing Astronaut with lots of fun space themed puzzles in. We did puzzles from this every day. We made our own Phoenix Fates and Fortunes style stories - a branching story with different choices to make as you read. We went for a walk with Oma and made daisy chains. We chose a mini mystery to watch on mystery science. Vinnie chose “How is ice cream made?”. Then we also watched the top 5 interesting ways to make candy which was pretty amazing! Vinnie wrote a letter to a friend (oops I just remembered we still need to post!) and drew a fun picture. We thought about our daily routines and made a poster of it. Vinnie filled in a fun sheet all about fruits from around the world and came up with some of his own fruits, describing them and drawing them so I could try and match them up. We drew some space creatures and described them. We looked after the garden. Vinnie wrote down what he enjoyed doing this ...

We worked out lots of white rose maths puzzles using blocks and other methods. We played junior scrabble , recording the number of letters of each word as we went then added up all our scores at the end. We did the final anchor activity for mystery science about the star trails. We thought about what you could use to measure the time at night. We looked at a cute story sack with Elmer and answered the quiz at the end. We made numbers with place value arrows up to hundreds then rolled a dice to randomly determine if we were going to add our two numbers together or subtract the smaller one from the larger one. We looked at a space themed Lego explorer magazine and vin built the little UFO that came with it. Vin did a page from his comprehension activity book then we played three minute poetry together again, choosing 3 random words from the dictionary and then getting three minutes to write a poem with all those words in it. Vin did some Banjo cat puzzles and drew what kind of sea c...

We did lots of white rose maths activities to do with place value, number lines and part whole models. We played a game rolling 3 10 sided dice each and using them to make a number, and then another die to determine the ones, tens or hundreds place. Whoever had the highest number in that place got to do that number of actions. We solved the mystery “Could there be life on other planets?” on mystery science. We worked together to research various factors about temperature and light intensity on some fictional exoplanets orbiting other stars. We decided on the optimal planet to visit. Vinnie filled in a page of his comprehension activity book. Then we each chose a poem, read it out to the other person, then selected 3 or 4 lines from the poem to write out but change some of the words and make it a bit silly. We had fun puzzling out the clues of a space themed English mystery. We had to identify nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs, types of sentences, punctuation and capital letters...

We solved some more “time” puzzles on white rose maths, then Vin aced an activity sheet with some 5 times table and division practice. We played some games multiplying dice rolls and doing actions while solving them. We had another recap on grammar and then solved some puzzles with sentences that needed un-jumbling and adding capital letters where appropriate and fullstops. Vinnie even did an extra page as a surprise with question marks and exclamation marks. Then we did some more from his “Last Kids on Earth” mad libs book, Vin wrote down the types of words and then I read out the story he had created. Vin met his friends at the park and they played for a couple of hours with the football and on the playground. Vin did another white rose maths activity then another times table sheet with cars this time. Then we played what’s the time mister wolf board game. Vin did really well matching up the times. We did the mystery science activity ‘why is gravity different on other planets?’....
