We had our last week of the year for Bowser Academy!  We printed out some christmassy activity sheets including a dot to dot and graph christmas tree, sums to solve a coded joke, cutting out stockings and sticking them up by the chimney in numerical order, and a whole load of activities from a "snowman and the snow dog" activity book.   On Tuesday we had the Communigrow christmas party. Vinnie made a table centre with a candle and evergreen foliage, he very carefully decorated some gingerbread biscuits with beautiful icing baubles, made some hanging treats for the birds' christmas feast, sung carols and drank hot chocolate.   We read a big stash of christmassy books. And also a lot of other books too! We baked a cake together.   We read the Maths Camping Adventure book together (one of vin's old favourites that we have been trying to reserve from the library for months!) See you in the New Year! Books from the library: The nutcracker Ray, Jane, 1960- 2015 Books...

This week for letterjoin we printed out some Christmassy themed words to copy and trace! We made some paper decorations for the tree using a printout from Shifty McGifty and Slippery Sam's latest story.   We've done a christmas word search, christmas crossword, christmas riddles...Christmas activities! We played mini table tennis in the living room.   At Communigrow we learned about how birds have different shaped beaks to help them eat their favourite foods. We looked around the field to see what food there is for the birds to eat over the winter and what sorts of food we can put out for them. We tried to see what birds there were to know what they might like but they were all sensibly tucked away while we got chilly! We made some feeders for them by putting peanut butter on a stick and rolling it in seeds, we also used the screwdriver to put a screw through a bit of wood to put an apple on to take home for birds in the garden.   Vin made a bookmark and a thank you...
