There's been a big gap in posts! As Vinnie gets older we seem to do more things that aren't very interesting to photograph or a bit repetitive so I forget to log them.

We have continued working on addition to build familiarity and speed. We mostly do this by playing games, printed out ones or proper board games, or more recently playing games on the computer such as on topmarks.co.uk or mathsframe.co.uk

We've also been using some geography and history books more often. We learned about plans.

Vin still loves playing make-believe and cooking up a storm!

We've been out and about seeing loads of fungi and beautiful autumn colours

Vin had some lovely books for his birthday including one about Ancient Greece. He enjoyed building a model of a greek nobleman's house.

We went for a walk in the woods to find some pumpkin pictures that were put up for halloween. We also found an inquisitive squirrel!

We did some star gazing and planet spotting.

We talked about feelings and emotions.

We had fun with pattern blocks

Vin has been learning to prepare potatoes.

We did a mystery science about the skeleton and made "x-ray" pictures of our hands.

We made pattern and 3D shapes

We did a "draw-along" event with author Sophy Henn and drew cute cheeky monkeys!

I received a special invitation (and was addressed as Monsieur?)

We listened to some spooky classical music and learned about the composers with Harriet Rose's "kids love classics" events. We did a Danse Macabre event and a halloween themed event.

Vin had fun putting all the halloween decorations out.

We had a fun halloween. We bobbed for apples, made toffee apples, did dressing up, made witches hats, made and decorated cupcakes, had a dance party and once it got dark we had glow sticks and a fire log and toasted marshmallows.

Vinnie started learning to crochet.

We did a draw-a-long of the haunted mansion with a disney imagineer

We learned about and played games with fractions.

We learned to draw some monsters from Vin's phoenix comics

We made a wobbly turkey on a string from mystery science

Vin practiced some cutting and sticking and maths

V got all his alphablocks set out and fancied making some words.

We did some fun drawing with the art for kids hub on youtube

We looked at money and practiced recognising the coins then made a shop and did some practice buying and selling.

Vin made a playdough blob fish

We made some food for the birds in the garden.

We did some experiments making lego boats

We made some apple trappers from mystery science!

We made a model dinosaur, mixing the different colour dough in varying proportions to get the colours.

We also went on lots of walks, saw a billion fungi, built dozens of lego models, read a LOT of books both together and apart and had lots of fun.
