17 January - 7 February Chinese new year and other assorted things
I forgot to take many photos again this month or to make a note of everything but here is a selection of highlights!
We've been to the library quite a lot of times this month, Vin has read so many books. Current favourites are the Ottoline series of books and the Anna Hibiscus series. He has also chosen loads of books about vehicles.
We've also been to the playground quite a lot making the most of when the weather is dry and sunny to see friends.
We borrowed another different story sack from the library. This one called "The Big Red Bath". When we first read the story we tried to guess what animal would be jumping in to the bath next, and played with the cuddly toys as we went along. We enjoyed playing the board game too.

We've been inventing our own games indoors and outside. We had pom pom balancing and throwing, games with balloons and bowling indoors and jumping games with the skipping rope outside.

We borrowed books and found websites all about Chinese New Year. We made our own Chinese New Year feast by making ribs and egg fried rice. We made lanterns.

We've had fun with Vin's spy tech electronics toy. We made a morse code transmitter and sent and decoded messages to each other.

Vin decided to make a nest for a Robin ornament with various scraps and bits and bobs.

We watched a few mini lessons on mystery science and Vin really liked making our own infinite mirror!

Vin's been fairly keen (well more than usual) about doing a bit of maths and english activity books. We learned about verbs and nouns and practiced making different pairs of numbers that add up to 20.

We fed the ducks at the park but they had so much food from other visitors that they weren't interested at all!

We played around Tonbridge Castle and saw a pigeon's nest in the castle wall.

We went out for a special lunch and Vin enjoyed creating his own imaginary cake.

We had fun at Maidstone museum, trying some dressing up and masks and exploring the exhibits.

Vin and a friend had a mega junk modelling afternoon! They wrapped pretend presents, Vin made a bubble eating snake and a headless horseman and a jet pack!

We played a game rolling 2 dice and adding them together , then matching the number to clock pictures. We took it in turns and whoever was waiting had to make the time on Vin's toy clock puzzle.

Other than that, we've read loads of books, played board games, played outside and talked and talked...!
