24 - 30 April 2023 (week 17)
We read about time and solved some time themed white rose maths activities. We had a go with the clock setting various times. We did the mystery science activity “How can the sun help us explore other planets?”. We made a paper strip model of the solar system and labelled the eight planets then did an experiment to see how bright the sun would appear on each planet. Then we discussed where may be a good place to send a solar powered rover. We then found out more information about each planet and revised our choices based on the pros and cons. Vinnie did a page about units of time from his maths activity. We then hid lots of eggs around the house and searched for them. Each one contained a multiple of 5 which we had to write down the division sentence for. We wrote space themed acrostics. Vinnie enjoyed this so much he wrote two.
