Vin's Learning Journey

We have carried on learning about Space. We have read some books with a lot of interesting facts. We printed out some constellations, made holes where the stars are and shone a torch through to see the constellation on the wall. Vin made a tank with one of his Christmas presents. He later modified it into a "Venus rover" and has been playing lots with it pretending to explore the surface of Venus. At the park we did some "astronaut training" to make sure we were fit and healthy to go into space! We helped with "spaceship maintenance too". Sanding down some of the information boards and cleaning them, ready for repainting. Vin has continued painting his planets for his Solar System model and drawing pictures of each thing as we learn about it and writing a fact for our display. We have been preparing for Christmas and enjoying all the fun outings and visits to family and friends. We enjoyed doing yoga every day of advent using the Cosmic Kids Advent Calendar. We saw carol singers at the park and at Scotney Castle. We made mince pies. Vin cut out bits to make snowmen, matching the number of dots with the number on their body. Vin helped wrap presents, and wrote tags and lots of lovely christmas cards to people. We made bird feeders at the park. Vin coloured a nice picture. We did a word search from an "Man on the moon" theme activity pack. Vin wrote him a nice letter. We checked out fancy christmas decorations at Batemans and at Leeds Castle. We had fun making some words with the alphablocks. We met a cute friend and did some dressing up (and more christmas decoration admiring) at Standen house.
